Mission

Highland Park Community Church strives to be a
Great Commission Church
Ministering in Light of
The Great Commandment
in fulfilling The Five Biblical Purposes
of Discipleship, Evangelism, Worship, Service and Fellowship

Vision Statement
"To Know God and Make God Known"

"I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death." (Phil 3:10 NIV)

Core Values

1. We believe that PRAYER is foundational to the success of our ministry.
     (John 15:5)
2. We believe the WORD OF GOD to be foundational to Christian discipleship and maturity.
     (2 Timothy 3:14-16)
3. We believe that the pursuit of full DEVOTION TO CHRIST and His cause is normal for every believer.
     (Philippians 2:1-11; Romans 12:1-2)
4. We believe COMMUNITY AND CELEBRATION are foundational as our strategy for ministry.
     (Acts 2:42)
5. We believe that this congregation should operate as a unified community of SERVANTS with men and women stewarding
    their spiritual gifts.

(1 Corinthians 12; Romans 12: Ephesians 4; Philippians 2:1-11)
6. We believe that loving RELATIONSHIPS should permeate every aspect of church life.
     (1 Corinthians 13; John 13:34-35)
7. We believe in a multiple staff ministry that DE-CENTRALIZES the ministry by equipping and unleashing the laity to become
    a true Priesthood of Believers.
     (Ephesians 4:11-16)
8. We believe that EXCELLENCE honors God and inspires people.
     (Malachi 1:6-14; Samuel 24:24)
9. We believe that OUTREACH into this community is not just a program but a lifestyle.
     (Luke 5:30-32; Luke 15; Matthew 18:14)
10. We believe that Christ compels us to go into all the world by MISSIONS INVOLVEMENT.
     (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:8)

Can You Imagine a Church...

...where every person believes that life is meaningful and
    has purpose?

...where every person has the attentive care of a pastor?

...where every person prays for another and receives the personal
    prayers of others?

...where every person integrates worship into their day-to-day living?

...where every person uses their giftedness for the good of the
    Kingdom of God?

...where every person has the opportunity to break open God's Word
and learn to apply it to their own lives?

...where every person is appreciated and respected?

...where every person can share his story, his struggles, his sorrows
    and be loved unconditionally?

...where every person remembers what it felt like to be lost and
then, commits to reaching those bound by sin?

...where every person will pursue holiness because they have had the
opportunity to witness authentic Christianity up close?

Can you imagine? Can all of those things happen in our church? Can we be that church? I may be a dreamer, but my hope is fixed on Christ and the power of His resurrection, and I believe God expects it to happen!

It is happening in part, and will continue to happen, as we commit our lives to seeing these things come to pass in our community groups week by week, month by month, and year by year.

I'm excited about Community Group Ministry because people's lives are transformed. As individual lives are changed so is our body of believers as a whole changed, and then our cities are touched, and then our world.

Can you imagine a world that loves Jesus?
